Tiem

Bikinis for those who get involved.

We love to bake on the sand as much as anyone.  But don’t stay there on account of your swimwear.  Whether you surf, swim, paddle, or play, a Tiem bikini not only looks good, but stays on.  We believe in getting after it, setting our own pace, and having the ability to do anything... in a bikini.  So get involved.

Form + Function

Form + Function

Form:

Never judge a book by its cover.  And never judge a bikini by its coverage.

We design little bikinis that look good because why would we wear them if they didn't???  Inspired by bikinis of the 70's, our suits sit low on the hips, accentuating your natural curves.  Thin strings on top allow for minimal tan lines.

But while we do like small tan lines and big naps on the sand, life just isn't as fun when the ONLY thing you do is lay out.  That's why we make bikinis that stand the test, and will stay put when you go over the falls in your next body surfing session.

Function:

Immerse yourself.  In water, in life.

Our philosophy is in our slogan.  No spectating here.  We like to get into it.  Waves?  Ride ‘em.  Mountains?  Climb ‘em.  Cliffs?  Jump ‘em.  Hammocks?  Toasty sand?  Nap like it’s going out of style.  Why be a spectator in life?  Get fully involved.  But doing whatever you want shouldn’t keep you from wearing whatever you want.

We use our bikinis for everything. EVERYTHING.  Surfing, swimming, water polo, outrigger canoe paddling, distance and sprint paddling, lifeguard competitions, bodysurfing, wakeboarding, volleyball, and yes, you can get a tan in one too.

The bottom line is that Tiem bikinis look good and they work, whatever your sport may be.

American Made

While providing products with exceptional fit and function is our main goal, we don't like the idea of doing it at the expense of the environment or our local economy.  This is why we are proud to say that all of our bikinis are handmade locally here in Los Angeles.  We try to limit our footprints to the sandy kind, rather than the big carbon kind, and we encourage you to do the same by supporting small businesses like ours.

About Us

Infused into every Tiem suit is the experience, creativity and penchant for the unusual brought together in ways that only Tyler and Tandis Morgan can create.

Tandis Morgan

LITTLE SISTER

Tandis designed the Tiem bikini after store-bought suits failed her time and time again.  There had to be a way to combine the looks of her favorite teeny bikinis with the function of her big ugly speedo, so in high school, she set out on her mom's 1965 Elna sewing machine to create a bikini that looked good and worked in the water.

As an accomplished surfer, paddler (boards, skis, and now canoes), water polo player, swimmer, and warm-sand napper, Tandis knows how a suit should perform.  She was the 2007 and 2008 USLA International Ironwoman Champion, and has represented the USA in multiple international surf lifesaving events around the world.

When she's not playing in the water, Tandis is an LA County Ocean Lifeguard, and a Registered Nurse in the ER for Kaiser Permanente.  She sings and writes songs on her guitar, aspires to learn to sail, and to catch a big halibut with a Hawaiian sling.

Tyler Morgan

BIG BROTHER

Tyler brings much artistry, creativity, and flavor to the partnership, not to mention a dedicated work ethic.  From the time he was young, he has been creating.  Since sewing his first sock puppet as a little kid, he’s worked with all kinds of creative mediums, and isn't afraid to try things that are a little different.  Drawing, watercolor, photography, sculpture, woodworking, pottery, and fiberglass, are just a few.  He built a guitar out of a mailbox, crafted his own beautiful wooden outrigger canoe, makes all his own outrigger and standup paddles, shapes his own surfboards and paddleboards, and plays a mean harmonica.

Kamanaokekai is Tyler's middle name. It means "spirit of the sea" and it suits him. A true waterman, Tyler has logged more than a few hours surfing, bodysurfing, diving, paddling, surfskiing, swimming, rowing, playing water polo, and competing in lifeguard events.  He works as an Ocean Lifeguard Specialist for Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division.
